Kedarnath does not have an airport of its own which makes Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun the nearest civil airhead. Located 239 kms away from Kedarnath, Jolly Grant Airport is well connected to the major cities of India such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. There are plenty of flights operating to and fro from these cities and provide a lot of options in term of flight timing and fares. New Delhi, the capital of India is the nearest metropolitan and if you take a nonstop flight from New Delhi, the travel duration to Jolly Grant hovers between 45 minutes to an hour (depending upon the airline). By road:
Kedarnath is well connected to New Delhi and Dehradun by the bus network. If you land in New Delhi, the best way is to take a bus ride to Dehradun which is a 260 km journey from the Indian capital. Kashmere Gate Bus Terminal and Anand Vihar Bus Terminal in Delhi are the two major interstate bus depots that run regular bus schedules to Dehradun. Once in Dehradun, you can board a bus to Kedarnath. There are plenty of options to choose from A/C sleeper, non A/C sleeper, Volvo A/C, multi-axle semi-sleeper to Volvo A/C multi-axle semi-sleeper buses. You can also board a bus from Haridwar, another holy place in Uttarakhand. The distance between Haridwar to Kedarnath is around 125 kms and buses take about 5 hours to cover the distance. Gaurikund is the nearest motorable area from Kedarnath. The road that will lead you to Gaurikund is a scenic one and you are just going to wish that the journey simply does not end!

Badrinath Dham located in Chamoli district at an altitude of 3584 mtrs above sea level 3415 mtrs on the bank of Alaknanada River. The temple was built by Adi guru Shankaracharya, Due to heavy snowfall during winters; the temple only opens between the starting of May to middle of November. With the Badrinath temple there are some other attracting places like Ganesh Gufa , Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Charanpaduka, Maatamoorti, Bhimkund, Tapt Kund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River.

By Train:

Nearest railway station from Badrinath is Haridwar Railway Station, at the distance of 318 Kilometers. This railway station is a broad-gauged station is connected to other major railway stations of the country.

Intrastate and interstate buses run in Badrinath, making it easily connected to different towns and states like Rishikesh, Haridwar, Srinagar, Dehradun, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and others. These buses have affordable fares and are the best options to cover great distances.
